About
William Russell is a composer, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Puerto Rico. He has contributed music for various feature films, award-winning short films, documentaries, animations, video games, and providing Producer Services for Output, Inc. In 2019, he graduated from the Conservatory of Music of PR.
His music combines a unique blend of real instruments with electronic sounds using technology as a creative outlet to develop new sonic and interactive possibilities. William masterfully crafts interesting compositions with equally inventive sound design, due to creative programming, sampling, and arranging. He has worked on various productions across different genres, ranging from intimate emotional music, orchestral music, electronic music, jazz big band setup, or any instrumentation the story requires.
William makes use of all of the elements at his disposal to create a sonic environment that supports and enhances the story or production.

The series examines the complex and contrasting relationships between players, coaches, families, and the communities they represent. It reveals the political, social, and sporting dynamics of the rivalry between MX and USA.
Our goal (score composed alongside Rigoberto Alvarado & Ricardo Wheelock ) was to combine sonic characteristics from both Latin America & USA. The sound of “Good Rivals” was made out of a mix of Latin American instruments - such as Bombo Legüero, Cuatro, Charango, etc. - with more traditional US instrumentation and styles such as blues, rock, and even a hint of 80s dance music.
